- PricewaterhouseCoopers Australia faced the major 2023 Australian Tax Office (ATO) leak scandal after former PwC Australia head of international tax Peter Collins shared confidential Australian government Multinational Anti-Avoidance Law (MAAL) deliberations with PwC partners 2015-2017, who then used the information to develop tax-avoidance schemes for multinational clients — Collins was banned from accounting profession December 2023, PwC Australia divested government consulting practice to Scyne Advisory for AUD 1 in June 2023.
