- The U.S. National Labor Relations Board issued more than 100 complaints against the company encompassing hundreds of alleged unfair labor practices since the Starbucks Workers United organising campaign began in 2021, including findings that the company unlawfully fired union organisers, closed stores in retaliation for unionising, withheld pay and benefit improvements from unionised stores, and refused to bargain in good faith, with a federal administrative law judge and the NLRB general counsel characterising the conduct as among the most extensive recent U.S. antiunion campaigns.
